Someone taught us that by midlife the story is basically set: the bold moves are behind us, and what’s left is maintenance. I’m calling that out for what it is a lie. If you’ve felt a quiet pull toward a new career, a creative dream, or a version of yourself you’ve been too cautious to try, that pull is not random and it’s not childish. It’s data.

We lean on neuroscience and the concept of neuroplasticity to make this practical. Your brain is not a finished product. It can form new neural pathways, build new patterns, and reshape habits at any age. That means your mindset is trainable, your confidence is rebuildable, and your future is still flexible. We talk about why midlife reinvention can be more powerful than starting young because you’re not starting from zero you’re starting from experience, wisdom, and real self-knowledge.

You’ll leave with a simple exercise you can do today: name the one thing you keep telling yourself is “too late,” write it down, and answer it with two words: not yet. If this pep talk lands, subscribe so you don’t miss the next Glow Getter Weekly, share it with a friend who needs the reminder, and leave a quick review. What’s one “not yet” you’re ready to claim?

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Midlife Glowgetter Podcast. And this is the Glow Getter Weekly, a quick bite-sized pep talk from me to you. So we'll get started. So pull up a chair. I want to talk to you about something that might just change everything for you today. Someone told you, maybe society, maybe a voice in your own head, that by now the chapters were mostly written, that reinvention was for your 20s, that this is the maintenance phase of your life. I need you to hear me when I say that is a flat out lie. Science, actually neuroscience, has your back on this. Your brain has something called neuroplasticity. And what that means is that your brain is not a finished product. It is not concrete. It is not locked. Right now, today, at whatever age you are, your brain is still capable of forming new neural pathways, new connections, new patterns. It is literally still rewriting itself every single day. Think about that for a second. The very organ that runs your life, your thoughts, your beliefs, your habits, your dreams is still under construction, still open for business, still changeable. So when you feel that pull towards something new, a new career, a new creative pursuit, a new version of yourself you've never been brave enough to try. That is not you being naive. That is not a midlife fantasy. That is your brain telling you it is ready. Women have been learning new languages in their 50s, starting businesses in their 60s, discovering entire passions they never knew existed in their 40s, not in spite of their age, because of their wisdom, patience, and self-knowledge they had finally accumulated. You are not starting over. You are starting from experience. And that is a completely different and far more powerful place to begin. So today, your one job is this. Identify one thing you've told yourself it's too late for. Write it down, and then whisper back to it, not yet. Because gorgeous, your brain is still taking notes, and it is absolutely ready for the next chapter. I'll see you next week. Love Jax.
